Welcome to Botany Town Centre Medical Practice

Dr Pieter Vosloo MB.ChB. (Pret), FRNZCGP, started the practice in 1996. The practice relocated to the Botany Town Centre in 2000 and adopted the name Botany Town Centre Medical Practice.

Botany Town Centre Medical Practice has grown into a three GP practice, with 3 specialist nurses and administration staff. Visiting specialists include a Cardiologist and Orthopaedic Surgeons.

We provide a variety of general and specialist medical care to all our patients as well as Accident & Emergency care assisting the DHB in reducing hospital admissions.

Dr Vosloo is a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP). Dr Vosloo is contracted by the RNZCGP as a qualified doctor undertaking teaching of trainee doctors in the Stage 1 General Practice Education Programme (GPEP1) and the practice is assigned a Registrar every six months, providing medical care to our patients under Dr Vosloo’s supervision.

Dr Vosloo holds an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer Appointment at the University of Auckland Medical School and the practice is assigned undergraduate medical students from year 2 to training intern, that visits the practice to gain hands on experience in general practice.

Botany Town Centre Medical Practice is fully accredited with the RNZCGP Cornerstone Programme and we are proud to be recognised as a RNZCGP Cornerstone Quality Practice. The practice has therefore met the high standards set by the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners, which enables us to ensure that you, your family and friends receive the highest quality care. Botany Town Centre Medical Practice is an affiliated provider with Southern Cross.

We provide healthcare to members of Southern Cross Society and can arrange prior approval with Southern Cross on behalf of our patients for Skin Cancer Surgery offered by Dr Vosloo, directly through an online system. The practice has been certified for NZS 8165:2005 Office Based Surgery by Health Audit New Zealand.

We are contracted to the CMDHB and see patients under the G.P.w.S.I (General Practitioner with Special Interest) programme as Dr Vosloo has completed his Certificates in Oto-Rhino-Laryngology / Head-and-Neck Surgical Training.

Dr Vosloo has completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinician Performed Ultrasound from Otago University which is used during patient consultations and has been a valuable tool in the early detection of serious medical conditions.

We offer a range of skin cancer and minor surgery which is performed in the practice under local anaesthetic within our theatre room. Dr Vosloo has completed his Advanced Certificate in Skin Cancer Surgery from the University of Queensland and has many years’ experience in surgery, due to his training in Cardiothoracic Surgery, prior to opening his own general practice.

Our Nurses are trained Vaccinators, Smear Takers, trained in Spirometry, Diabetes, Cardio Vascular Disease risk assessments, Asthma, Wound care, Infection control, Drug testing and many more. Botany Town Centre Medical Practice are contracted to Manukau Institute of Technology in providing training to nursing students during their undergraduate training.
